  • This week, we want to raise awareness about domestic violence. We will share information during the morning announcements each day. During homeroom we will be collecting donations for the Interval House, a local domestic violence shelter in Hartford that serves families in Newington. Students who donate $1 during homeroom will receive a purple ribbon for their lanyard and we encourage everyone to wear purple on Friday.
Domestic Violence is, by definition, a pattern of coercive, controlling, dominant behavior that takes on many forms, including physical, emotional, psychological and verbal. Domestic Violence affects individuals in every country, regardless of age, economic status, sexual orientation, gender, race, religion or nationality.
