No School- Exam Makeup- A – B – C

  • Students interested in attending the Traveler’s Job Shadow Day permission forms MUST be turned in today to Mrs. Ennis in 200A
  • Students interested in applying to the UCONN Mini Medical/Dental program applications are due today to Mrs. Ennis in 200A.
  • Future Business Leaders of America has a quick 15 minutes meeting today right after school in room 202. We will be discussing spring field trips, dues and guest speakers. Don’t forget to bring your $15 dues to Mrs. Harding or Mrs. Dennis.
  • Fashion Club will be meeting after school today in room 186. All are welcome. See you there.
  • Athletic Home Games this week are:
    o Wresting vs Hastings Duals will be held on Saturday, January 26th in the gym beginning at 9:30 am
  • Volunteers are needed for the Newington Blackhawks Wrestling Club tournament, this Sunday, January 27th in the High School Gym form 6 am – 6 pm. All volunteers will be provided lunch and a complimentary t-shirt. If you are interested in signing up for a 3 hour shift, please see Mr. Harris in the Magee House.
  • Attention all Italian and French National Honor Society members: There will be a brief meeting on Monday, January 29th after school in room 101.

  • The NHS Book Club welcomes 2019 with a twisted thriller entitled This is Our Story. Why not stop by the library and pick up a copy? Book discussion is optional and will be held on January 31st. Come read great books with us!
  • Students interested in participating in the Hartford Hospital Summer VolunTeen program, there will be a mandatory information session on Monday, February 11th from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm at the hospital. Registration is required and limited to 100 people. Please see Ms. Arnett or Mrs. Ennis in 200A for more information.

Each quarter we are going to have a Family of Learners event. Our Quarter 2 event is today from 2:30 pm- 4:00 pm in the gym. Come join us for dodgeball, obstacle courses, ice cream and more! It’s FUN and it’s FREE!

No School- Exam Makeup- A – B – C

  • Due to the 2 hour delay on January 22,2019, NHS will have their make-up exam period only. Therefore, only students who need to take a make-up exam should attend school. The make-up exam period will run from 9:35 am to 11:35 am.

    Buses will run on the “late bus run” schedule both before and after the make-up exam period. Therefore, please note that this is not their usual bus stop. These “late runs” can be accessed here.

    Semester 2 will begin on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 and will follow an A Day Schedule with a 5 minute homeroom in order to distribute schedules to students.

  • The January meeting for National English Honor Society is today! Please send all peer tutoring hours to Mrs. DiBernardo in room 303.
  • Junior and Senior students who are interested in pursuing careers in the medical, dental, pharmacy or biomedical fields, UCONN will be holding an 8 week Mini Medical/Dental program beginning in February. Interested students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or above. Please see Mrs. Ennis as soon as possible for more information. Today is the deadline to apply.

  • The NHS Bowling Club is holiday its annual bowl-a-thon fundraiser this Sunday, January 13th. All ages and ability bowlers encouraged to attend. Starts at 1:00 pm offering 3 games or 2 hours of bowling with free rentals (shoes, ball and lanes) for just a $20 donation.
