  • Today, many staff members are wearing red and/or have donated money to the American Heart Association. Approximately every minute, someone will die from heart disease. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for people of most ethnicities in the US. Today we bring awareness to this disease by joining in The National Wear Red Day!
  • NHS KIND Challenge: Helping out with Hygiene. Now through February 14th, bring any hygiene item and place it in a box located in the café, Mrs. Harding’s room, Mrs. Dennis’ room or Mrs. Fanelli’s room. For EACH item you bring in, you will fill out your name and submit it in the challenge box in the cafeteria for a chance to win a $10 gift certificate. So, show your love and bring in as many items as you wish.
  • Les Miz T-shirt order forms are due today. Any questions see Mr. Clark.
  • A college rep from Kean University will be here today at 10:00 am during period 4. Any Junior or Senior interested in meeting with the rep, please make sure you sign up for the visit in Naviance and print your confirmation page to use as your pass.
  • Tomorrow, the Boys Ice Hockey team will be having a home game against Northeastern at the Newington Ice Arena at 6:45 pm.
  • Patron tickets are now on sale for the musical! Pick your seat, get your name in the program and help the students raise funds for the spring music trip. Regular price tickets go on sale Monday. visit
  • Chamber Choir Call backs are moved to February 5th after school. See Mr. Clark with any questions.
  • AP Registration is open. Please come to main school counseling before February 8th to register. Friday, February 8th is the last day for your deposit payment. After that, you will have to pay in full for AP Exams.
  • Volunteers are needed at the Library for a concert event on Sunday, February 10th. Please see Mrs. Ennis in 200A for details and to sign-up.
  • Students interested in participating in the Hartford Hospital Summer VolunTeen program, there will be a mandatory information session on Monday, February 11th from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm at the hospital. Registration is required and limited to 100 people. Please see Ms. Arnett or Mrs. Ennis in 200A for more information.
  • To All Students & Staff: On February 16th, we will be creating food packets for the Lakota Tribe of North Dakota. The Lakota Tribe live with this highest rate of poverty in the entire United States. Please join us from 10 am – 12 pm in the NHS cafeteria. All are welcome! Service hours are available. See Mrs. Rodriguez in room 103 to sign up or for more details.
  • Parks & Recreation is now accepting for Summer Counselor and Lifeguard positions. The deadline to apply is February 15th. Please see Mrs. Ennis in 200A for an application.
  • Quick Reminder of our School Rules:
    o No Backpacks are allowed during the school day.
    o No Hats or Hoods are allowed during the school day.
    o All students must be in homeroom unless there is an emergency.
    o Refrain from running in the hallways.
