  • Attention All Students: This is a reminder that Student Emergency Contact Sheets AND Student Handbook Awareness Statements are due to homeroom teachers tomorrow.
  • Interested in joining stage crew? There will be an informational meeting today after school in the auditorium. Hope to see you there!
  • Do you have a good understanding of your classes? You should help others by joining Peer Tutor Club! If you are interested in tutoring, come to our first meeting today. Let’s empower students to achieve their full academic potential.
  • The Scribe, Newington’s Student Publication is back! In The Scribe, students can find useful information related to the school community, pieces written by and for them, as well as pictures and art. We are looking for submissions of art, photography, poems, articles, short stories and games for our 1st edition. The first meeting will be today at 2:30 pm in room 305. New and returning members are welcome. See Mr. Rutigliano in room 305 for more information.
  • Motorsports Club will be having its first meeting after school tomorrow room 329. New members are welcome. See you there!
  • All students interested in being on the Yearbook Committee. The first meeting will be held tomorrow at 2:30 pm in room 321. Students in call grades are invited and encouraged to attend.
  • National Honor Society Members there will be a meeting tomorrow after school. See you there.
  • If you are interested in running for class office, now is the time! See Mr. Hartley in the library for required paperwork. Elections will be held on September 23rd. Paperwork is due on Friday.
  • This Friday, wear your Red, White & Blue. To our first responders we stay true. T-shirts will be available all week at the Trading Post for just $10. Wear the shirts on Friday and to the Football game to show your support for the first responders for all the hard work they do!
  • Are you interested in designing our senior t-shirt? We want your input! The Class of 2020 is holding a contest to create a design for the blue & gold shirts that we will wear for spirit week and other events. Participate and show your class pride.
  • Attention all seniors who have not had their pictures taken yet by Art Rich Studios. A Photographer will be here on Tuesday, September 17th to take pictures of seniors who have not yet been photographed. There is no cost for this one picture and it will be the one that is used in the yearbook. Students who do not have their picture taken will not be in the senior portrait section of the 2020 yearbook and will not be able to submit a senior quote. To have your picture taken, please go to the auditorium before school, during lunch or an open study period. Please see Ms. Correll in Stoddard House or Mrs. Narowski in room 321 with questions.
  • Anyone interested in joining the NHS Math Team should come to our first meeting Wednesday, September 18th at 2:30 pm in room 228. See Mr. Miller with any questions.
  • The NHS Intersectional Feminist Society is back! Join us in room 336 on Wednesday, September 18th to discuss activities and plans for the year. All are welcome.
  • We have begun to hand out parking stickers. Come to the main office to obtain a Parking Sticker Form. Last year’s sticker is not valid. Vehicles must be registered every year. If you are parking on school grounds you must have a valid parking sticker.
  • The NHS Book Club is back! Interested students are asked to stop by the library today to sign up and get their copy of Goodbye Days by Jeff Zentner. Mr. Hartley and Mr. Righi will be hosting the first book club discussion after school on Thursday, September 26th.
  • Quick Reminder of our School Rules:
    o No Backpacks are allowed during the school day.
    o No Hats or Hoods are allowed during the school day.
    o All students must be in homeroom unless there is an emergency.
    o Refrain from running in the hallways.
