  • KINDNHS Challenge- Helping our Heroes! So many men and women in our military are deployed and are not be able to spend the holidays with their family. Show your thanks to them and brighten their holiday by contributing to the Hero Boxes organization. Things such as bars of soap, chapstick, tissues, crossword puzzles and deodorant might be things we take for granted but for a soldier they are a luxury that they don’t have easy access to. Through your generous donations, our soldiers will be able to receive gifts of their own during the holiday season and hopefully a little bit of comfort. As a school, we would are holding a homeroom challenge to see which homeroom can donate the most items to our Hero Box drive! Beginning Wednesday, October 31, each homeroom will be provided with a donation box as well as a list of needed items. This challenge will run until November 16th. The winning homeroom gets a free breakfast. Students – submit your name in the KINDNHS box in the café for the chance to win our drawing at the end of the month.
  • The second activity is in association with Newington DECA and is called Publications for the Public. We are accepting gently used novels, children’s books, CDs and DVDs to be donated for use in the Connecticut community. Bring your donation to the drop boxes located in the library and the cafeteria.
