Dear NHS Families and Friends,

Good afternoon,

It has been a great week of celebrations as we wind down the month of May. Students (299 of them) were celebrated at our annual Scholar's Breakfast (click HERE for the program) for making high honors for the 1st three quarters.

Mr. Clark will be honored tonight at 7:00 pm - all are welcome! I look forward to seeing many alumni as well as hearing amazing music!

Here's this week's learning: counselors hosted two events with tremendous turnouts (9th grade transition program and an Admissions Cousnelor Panel to 10th and 11th grade families); students enjoyed their downtown Wallingford Hispanic Businesses trip (see picture below); students at NHS visited 8th graders at JWMS and MKMS to share information (resources, scheduling, etc) about NHS (see picture below); students shined at our chorale concert and were joined by alumni and Hartford Gay Men's Chorus as they celebrated Mr. Clark's final NHS concert (see picture below); DECA and FBLA were inspired by guest Attorney Shirley Skyers-Thomas, Connecticut's Deputy Commissioner of Consumer Protections, as she emphasized the importance of finding joy and passion in their work (see picture below); students enjoyed their trip to the CT Science Center; and students learned how to relax at Soul Shine Yoga Studio.

Congratulations to our final Themed Thursday (Floral Day) Advisory and staff winners: Morales/Francolino's and Corderio's Advisories and staff members- Mrs. Lennon and Mrs. Pigeon.

Attendance - we are now in the home stretch - last half of quarter 4. Students and families should be mindful of our attendance policy and students are expected to be in school every day!

As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, comments, concerns, or contributions for the newsletter!
