NPS Celebrates Black History Month
Posted on 02/07/2023
Black History MonthAs a district, Newington Public Schools takes tremendous pride in acknowledging that February is Black History Month. This month-long commemoration is a chance to honor the legacy of contributions and tradition of achievements of Black people.  This observance, taking place nationally, reflects our collective history and contemporary experiences even as it highlights specific legacies.

At NPS we continuously strive to affect our mission of equity by-among other things-providing learning opportunities about race and culture.  In doing so, we will continuously provide access to a varied scope of resources and information for our school community to engage with.  Please visit our NPS Equity & Inclusion Website throughout the month, for more information about our overall efforts in order to promote equity, inclusion, and also in recognition of Black History Month. Our homage to Black History Month starts with an opportunity for members of our school community to explore perspectives on education, scholastic success, and life experiences. This week we are showcasing the perspectives and experiences of our very own staff from Elizabeth Green School.
