🩺 Medical Sciences Academy: A Day of Discovery at HFSC

​Some of our Medical Sciences Academy students had an outstanding experience today visiting the Hospital for Special Care in New Britain! This immersive trip gave our future healthcare professionals a firsthand look at the diverse world of medicine and Allied Health.
Throughout the day, students engaged with experts across several specialized fields, gaining insight into:

• Specialized Medicine: Understanding the complexities of long-term acute care.
• Therapeutic Careers: Seeing Physical, Occupational, Recreational and Respiratory Therapy in action
• Nursing & Patient Care: Observing the teamwork required to support patients with complex medical needs.
• IT & Computer Science: Students learned about the critical role of technology in healthcare, from managing complex electronic health records to the specialized IT infrastructure that keeps a medical facility running 24/7.

Experiences like these are the heart of our Academy—bridging the gap between classroom theory and real-world practice. A huge thank you to the team at Hospital for Special Care for their time, expertise, and for inspiring our students as they consider their own paths in the medical field!
