Student Volunteer & Community Involvement Opportunities – Walk to End Alzheimer's (Oct 31)

Posted Date: 09/09/26 (08:44 AM)

Good morning everyone,

The Alzheimer's Association is offering several ways for our students to get involved in the upcoming Greater Hartford Walk to End Alzheimer's on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Rentschler Field in East Hartford:

  • Walk Day Volunteers: Students can sign up for event shifts between 6:30 AM and 1:00 PM to help with setup, check-in, booth management, and cheerleading. All volunteers must register in advance.
  • Start a Student Walk Team: Student groups can create a team to fundraise, host events (such as a Dine & Donate), and participate in the walk.
  • Educational Guest Speakers: Their Programs department offers educational sessions on Alzheimer's and Dementia for students. Requests can be submitted via their Program Request Form.
If you are interested in participating or organizing a team, you can connect directly with staff partner Kimberly Brey at 860-949-8324 or krbrey@alz.org

Please contact me or stop by my office if you—or anyone you know—might be interested!

Respectfully,
