As students prepare for the new school year there are often questions about required school supplies.
It is the belief and practice of Newington Public Schools to provide our students with the necessary basic supplies for school success. The school district provides general supplies such as pens, pencils, crayons, highlighters, paper, post-it notes, and a digital solution (iPads or Chromebooks) for every student. The consumable supplies provided are usually “generic brands” as these are purchased in bulk via a state contract at significantly reduced costs. Students may bring their own supplies if they prefer a particular brand or type.
A teacher may suggest a specific item(s) that will help your child stay organized such as folders or notebooks. If a suggested item(s) causes a financial hardship for your family please contact Pam Wassik, Newington Human Services, at (860) 665-8596.
